In the scriptures of Rigveda, Yajurveda and Atharvaveda composed in the Vedic period, there are many verses, sutras and praises regarding the types of water, ground water and quality of water. Hydrological cycle is also described scientifically in Rigveda. Jal or waterhas also been described in detail in our traditional scriptures, Puranas and Samhitas written after the Vedic period.
