Situated in the dense wooded campus in Valiamala, some 20 km away from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology was established in 2007 and designated as a Deemed to be University under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, by the Department of Space.
